About Us
As a private consulting organization, Photescent offers 35+ years of experience in developing and fielding advanced proof-of-concept remote sensing systems across diverse wavelength domains.
As Principal and CTO, Paul Mohan previously held positions in industry focused on remote sensing Research & Development. Most recently, he was Technical Specialist – EO Sensors & Systems with the ZF Group, working with advanced technology teams in the conception, development and demonstration of new EO sensor concepts (imaging and non-imaging). Prior to this position, Mr. Mohan built a long and successful career with ERIM, Ann Arbor MI, and its derivative organizations. This period afforded the opportunity to work alongside prominent experts in the field solving a broad range of challenging problems in remote sensing. Focus areas were synthetic aperture radar, EO/RF sensor modeling, performance prediction and development, image and spectral analysis (acoustic through RF), and signal and image algorithms and processors. His roles as Principal Investigator spanned small and large R&D programs that sought to devise and demonstrate innovative sensor concepts and exploitation methods.
Mr. Mohan holds BS and MS degrees in EE from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. He holds seven US patents.
